It has been a busy month for me personally, with many of my goals set two years ago all falling into place.  After learning, studying and working with Christopher Howard training I am now officially a trainer http://tinyurl.com/67s8zx   and I  recently took the leap to present my first course for them.
I am honored to be part of one of the best training organisations in the industry as I continue to balance this with the growth of Annetteffect.

One thing I have learnt over the last couple of years is what you can achieve when you are focused.  It's important to know what you want and then stay on the path until successful?
Though I have had a number of opportunities either introduced to me or created in my mind, it has been important to remember where I ultimately want to go.
Yes, you can focus on more than one thing at once eg two different jobs or businesses, but they need to be congruent and able to work side-by-side towards a common purpose/dream.
You also need to be clear in your mind what time (when and how long) is dedicated to each 'key area of focus'.  This could be a regular pattern on a daily/weekly basis, or perhaps (as often happens for me) the pattern is more distributed in chunks of time over the month or quarter.
In either way, you want to have a clear plan on how you intend to manage your time.  I recommend setting goals/deadlines over a 3-month period that addresses the key areas that you want to have success in.  There might be an area or two dedicated to career/projects, an area for finance, and one or two areas focused on health/relationships or lifestyle.  I limit the number of areas to 5 to enable the best focus.
Within each area, decide what needs to happen over the next three months to ensure success in that area.  By doing this, you will be taking steps forward on a regular basis towards your ultimate success.

When you are focused and on-path decision making becomes easy.  You will know whether an opportunity is one that will help move you onward or whether it is another distraction.
Note, when you first decide to focus, you will be tested and opportunities abound.  How committed are you to your original plan and goals to forego those opportunities?  Richard Branson has said "Opportunities are like a bus, there's always another one on it's way!"

Decide what it is that you want and stay focused
